Bit of a silly question here... but I went for an interview yesterday for my dream job. I was told by the interviewer (top dog) that it had gone really well, they liked that fact that I have experience in many of their roles and they like the fact that I can start almost immediately. Would you say this is a fairly good indication that I'm in there? Don't want to get my hopes up, but I'm going insane! If I ask my family or boyfriend, they say it's a good sign. Not sure if they're trying to protect my feelings. Honest answers please!

Thanks guys!

Is there only one interview for this position? most firms offer two interviews, one with a senior manager from either the department where the job is, or from HR. They then usually follow up with a 2nd interview with manager from the department where you will be working, normally with the line manager immediatly above you.

Well this was the 2nd interview... sort of. The first was an aptitude test with numerical and verbal reasoning. I then passed this and went to the interview with the Buyer and his Assistant yesterday. So effecitvely it was the 2nd interview. As far as I can work out, there weren't any others interviewing for the position. I hope not anyway!
never believe anything an interviewer tells you lol.

It is a good sign but they aren't going to say you did really badly to your face.
