what is a PCSO

My friend has completed her police training and is now a PCSO but what exactly is this and what do they do? Do they get paid and why don't they get jobs as soon as they are qualified or isn't there enough available?

Police Community Support Officer.Don't know for sure what their duties are and what powers they have if any.

I think pcso stands for police community support officer, they do get a salary (starts about 16000 up to 20000 i think)

She is a police community support officer, this is not a fore runner to the police, that training is for 2 years and completely different.
