Hi, just wondering how much my son who is 16 will get as an apprenticeship? he is being employed by a local company who will send him to college, they say he will get just over 100 a week, is this a good deal? am sure it is but i just want it clarified.
Many thanks again

I don't know what the apprenticeship is in, but my view is that being paid while you are being trained for a career and sent to college when you are 16 is a bonus. I don't know either how this compares with the minimum wage, or whether that is even relevant in this case?
The minimum wage for 16 yr olds is 3.30 so if somone was working a 40 hour week they would get 132.

Unfortunately 16-17 year old apprentices are exempt from this but it does give you an indication. He is only 32 down on what he would get if he weren't an apprentice and he is getting College training at the same time.

It doesn't sound too bad to me!
