After hoping for a place on the craft apprenticeship, I don't even know how much I'd be on, or whether I'd be able to live of it. Does anyone know, or have a rough estimate on what the weekly/monthly salary is?

Minimum wages are:
for apprentices aged under 19: £2.65 per hour
for apprentices aged 19 and over, but in the first year of their apprenticeship: £2.65 per hour
Apprentices aged 19 or over who have completed one year of their apprenticeship are entitled to receive the national minimum wage rate applicable to their age.
for workers aged 21 years or more: £6.19 per hour
for workers aged 18 to 20 inclusive: £4.98 per hour
I wonder how much the staunch tories on this site are paying their cleaners while they look at what the rest of us have to live on.
My cousin is an engineering fitter at Airbus in Germany. To be honest, he doesn`t earn very much. If you can get onto an apprenticeship with an airline (which might be hard to come by but that is possible) you might be in a better position to further your ambitions. The only airline in the UK that that has any kind of apprentice training is BA.
There are set rates as described for Apprenticeships, but do bear in mind that it's not just the pay - you'll be getting the craft apprenticeship qualification at the same time, and you don't have to pay for that at all. If you are on low pay and have to support yourself, you may be entitled to tax credits as a top-up, but it all depends on your circumstances.
The answer clearly, Mojo-Jo-Jo, is 'you don't have to pay for slaves'.

What a pathetic remark for you to make.
Hi mojojojo- I don't understand your point either.
mrs factor and I do our own cleaning as I'm pretty sure most do, whatever their politics.
But would you prefer that those who employ cleaners get rid of them. And do Labour/Liberal supporters never employ cleaners?
I thought the minimum wage for apprentices was £2.65

However this rate is for apprentices under 19 or those in their first year. If you’re 19 or over and past your first year you get the rate that applies to your age.
