Are garages exempt from paying sales people NMW. I have been offered a starting salary of 10,000 plus commission for 43.5 hours per week (4.42 per hour). I am over 25 years old. Am I correct in thinking that even though I may get commission the hourly rate for the 10,000 must be at least the NMW.

The NMW is based on total gross pay which includes any commission. However if you do not receive the 2,101pa (40.42pw) or so in commission to take you over the NMW threshold then your employer will be in breach of employment law.
