HURRAH!  It's the first day of spring, a time of joy.  Tomorrow the hours of daylight will be longer than the darkness, the start of the vernal equinox.

i saw my first bumble bee of spring today, it was huge. This always make me smile and is my queue to get the short sleeve shirts out of storage and put the jumpers away.

A daisy among the weeds on our lawn. Hooray.

Yes, seen a few of them in the last week...unfortunately, also saw several greenfly on my roses this morning!

it will be christmas before we know it.

I read temperatures are going to drop this weekend and most of the country will have snow!

Light at 6:30 this morning happy days.

best wait on putting the jumpers away then

Spring definitely early here but forecast is for a lot of snow in the days around 30th March (not good for Easter) starting in Wales and S.W. England and spreading North - let's hope they have got it wrong.

Hope so, I've turned the heating off in most rooms. I'll turn it back on if I need to buy last year it went off on St Patrick's Day and stayed off.

My camelia isn't in full bloom yet and it's usually going over by now.  My poor hyacynths and daffs are battered.

Bearded man on a bike in shorts, first bumble bee, the petals from the large mirabelle tree in my garden are already falling like snow flakes, ditto the apple tree, first lemon yellow butterfly, and today I made first cut of the lawn.

But for me the real start will be in four weeks time when 'my' house martins arrive from Africa and take up residence in the eight nests on the front of my house.

Fabulous, there is something magical about seeing the first martins, swifts and swallows
