You'll need to work hard to make sure you impress them in your new job to make sure they don't fail your probation or reduce your hours, and also try harder to be flexible and avoid issues with your supervisor- and be lucky to find you enjoy working with your colleagues and managers. With all that you might just make more of a success of it than in your last few roles

Abbey, do you feel you're ready and able now to cope with 5 full-day shifts? That seems a bit of a jump for you.

Is Abbey now full time, NAC? I'm so confused

No she's not full time....she is waiting to see whether care home will give her Thursdays and Fridays, just Fridays or nothing as she walked away from the 3 day a week job there.

Question Author

Well see om Friday what she says and she said come in Friday so they won't have expected me Monday and yesterday

Question Author

*today

Scorpio, yes, it is all pretty confusing! Abbey does around 20/21 hours in the new job, and I think she mentioned maybe 'doing 20' elsewhere - and I thought she was hoping for that in the care home.  No doubt she'll know more on Friday....

Thanks both

I think Abbey has said she would like  to be offered around 20 hours in the care home over 3 days Wed to Friday and then ask to drop a day at the clients houses job

Question Author

I applied for a libary Assistant

A turn up for the books.

Thanks for the update, Abbey. Have you ever done anything like that before? Do you think you'd enjoy it as much as you enjoy cleaning?

PS The hours at my library wouldn't be ideal for you - it's open until 8 pm some nights and is also open on Saturdays!

Question Author

I haven't worked in a libary. That is true hours aren't as good. Prefer warehouse hours wise.

If it isn't what you want don't go for it.  If you carry on hopping around eventually you'll find it difficult to get a job at all.

I think working in a library would be nice, quiet and not too tiring though, mentally, it could maybe be a bit more stressful for you. Certainly a change from cleaning.  Good luck.

Question Author

That why I haven't got my new cleaning job on my CV

Abbey, have you got reasons for wanting to be a library assistant? If you're applying only because it offers full-time hours, that isn't ideal. Wouldn't you rather be doing something you KNOW you like? Cleaning seems to suit you, and I think there's a chance you could make a go of a job in a warehouse.

Question Author

Well yes I might I might not like it

From what I see, ,it might  be quiet in a library  , but it's   not easy  work

Abbey, I expect there will be a lot of applicants for that job - but good luck if you get an interview....

Abbey said a while ago that she passed English GCSE and some sort of IT - Library work may suit her.  Give it your best go Abbey.  Very often a library becomes a centre where older, lonely people go and I think you might like working with them.  Really go for it.  :)
