You'll need to work hard to make sure you impress them in your new job to make sure they don't fail your probation or reduce your hours, and also try harder to be flexible and avoid issues with your supervisor- and be lucky to find you enjoy working with your colleagues and managers. With all that you might just make more of a success of it than in your last few roles

Do you like books, reading, etc. Abbey as that would go a long way to making a decision re working in a library?

The assistants in my local library set up the seats, tables etc for the  toddler singing sessions and storytime sessions. They hand out controllers/pads to the young teenagers playing the computer games/consoles.  They show people how to use the photocopiers, they return books to the shelves, and they put books in the Reservations bookcase. Oh, and they also help with book-related questions, of course.

jourdain-  I'm not sure abbey said she'd passed English GCSE (in terms of grade 4/5, or C in old grades); she just said she was quite good at it or enjoyed it.

I did pass them

They didn't say anything all my supervisor said said was am I only doing Friday. They got a works do and you gotta pay

Why has the boss not spoken to you regarding which days you are due to work ?

Abbey, you might have to settle for only Friday at the care home - and as you're already actively seeking a new job, it'd be a little unfair to expect the care home to fall in with what you want... for maybe only a week or two, before you leave!

They will now be short two days a week so may be waiting until they find a replacement before they decide whether to release you completely, or keep you on just Fridays, or offer an extra day (Thursday or Saturday).

I'm lost  .. have you been at the Care Home today, Abbey?

I always had to pay for my works do, no big deal

Question Author

Sometimes she don't work Fridays and not like they will give anymore days as they have hired someone else. I asked my supervisor if she needed me to stay for few hours as they're short a colleuge told me but when I asked she said they're fine

Still not sure how to tell my mum about my new job

Sorry, Abbey, I've got lost.  Which job?  I  did tell you a good, long time ago that you should be completely honest with your mum. Now you have a web of obfuscation (half-truths etc.)to try to explain.

Tell the truth. Maybe your mum can help you set up a dog-walking sideline... there are 2 ladies around here.  Just a thought.

Question Author

My new cleaning job.

No she won't be able to help there apart from saying why don't I get a job in dogs home paid which there isn't at the moment and I hated mcdonalds.

Just need to think of right words to use and it will disappoint her as she knows I was happy in the care home and said it was perfect for me.

Get it over and done, tell her the truth and you'll have fewer things to worry about.

Has this not been talked through before, Abbey?

To get it clear, are you completely finished at the previous Care Home and now have just the  job at the new place?

Question Author

No I'm still in care home only started in new place last week so to early to say if I stick to it

Abbey, you've been keeping things from your mum for months now. Do you not think it's time you put her in the picture?

Abbey, I'm not  sure how to put this, but it is best to tell you the truth.  I do  not think you have a choice other than to stick at this  new job - whether you like it or not!  I am serious.

Your work record, just the bits we know about, is really not good - in fact it's pretty bad.  Jobs get easier as you stick at them. You are running out  of  choices. Do everything you are asked to do, accept criticism and changewhat you are doing to suit your employers.

One day, your parents will die (hopefully not for years yet, of course) and by then you need to be earning a living.

Hope this helps.  I mean well,  I just think you haven't realised how hard life can be yet.  :)

This new or home bargains is not on my CV and won't for a while.

I just keep thinking I don't want to upset her
