I am happy where I am but they've now said they can only give me 2 hours Monday Tuesday Wednesday and Friday so I don't know what to do.

Well done, abbey.  Just tell your mum.  What's not to be pleased about?  You've done well.

Home bargains

True, Abbey, though I have always been in employment working for several agencies - in a way, you are your own boss when it comes to deciding where you want to work and what you want to do - I'm not fussy.

Abbey, you need to find something you can stick with. All these short term jobs don't look good on your CV.

scorpio it doesn't matter how many jobs she finds if the companies keep letting her go or extending her probation.

She needs to find out what she can do to improve so that the companies feel they are getting a valid member of staff.

They thought it would be less presure

Abbey Do you ask your employers as many questions as you ask on here. Maybe you should try to figure things out for yourself and only ask for help if something is really confusing

I was thrown in deep end my first full week

Ask them why they thought it was too much pressure for you as you didn't feel it was too much . Sounds to me that like the last employer there just trying to say nicely that your not what they need. So you need to find out why

Question Author

They won't say they replaced me failing my probation as everyone knew apart from me. Obviously think I'm not coping

Sorry! the cleaning job has replaced you too?

Question Author

Don't know if they are looking for anyone else nor does my supervisor but other girls are part time

I'm getting confused but  I think Abbey was referring to the warehouse job?

Question Author

Yes that's right

Question Author

Just feel like a failure

Why do you think that you keep losing job?

Why did you leave the job at the dentist?

Is there anything you are good at?

What job would you like to do?

Do you have any qualifications?

Is there anything you would like to study at college?

Think about these questions!

Abbey, people here have tried - many times - to help you. People have encouraged you to think about what you want to do career-wise, rather than having one 'this'll do' job after another. I think you need to sit down one day and just work out what you would like to do, see if it's attainable, see how you could get to that point.

Same advice I gave you last night, Abbey. Don't get upset. Have a warm comforting drink and have an early night . Tomorrow you will think clearly and in the next few days, have a chat with your boss and ask them seriously what can you do that will impress them.Things will settle down and you already have an interview. Sleep well

abbey - give a lot of thought to Wolf's questions.

You were happy at the Care Home, but they are not happy with you. You need to ask yourself 'Why?' and again 'Why? What can I do to make them happy.'

We are all struggling on here, trying to understand set-ups etc. and I think that everyone is saying the best they can for you.

You say you feel like a failure. Perhaps you haven't quite been coming clean with us.  Did you leave all those jobs in the past after a couple of weeks - or did they also say you weren't suitable and it would pressurise you too much?  Has anyone said anything very clearly about why you are not suitable? Timekeeping etc.?

We're generally friendly here.  Tell us your qualifications, GCSEs etc.  You've certainly had a lot of work experience.

Abbey   I think you have a day off today so you might see this sometime later. I am going out so I  leave this with you:

I have read several of your posts regarding jobs, and have come to the conclusion that your problem with all past employers (apart from dental reception) is speed.

If I clean at home I can go at my own pace - rather slow now.  But  if I worked for a company, I would be given a certain amount of time to finish the job, as well as being  careful to do it to the necessary good standard.

Certain comments from your past employers have been "lacks energy" (speed)  and "under pressure" (speed)

Is it possible you can turn yourself into "Speedy Abbey" while being careful to do the task well?  I bet you can if you really try.

End of my speech (thank goodness)
