It always helps to have experience in the area... you can proof-read my book if you like...

Your choice.

Thanks Katie, I do have a certificate in proofreading. I will consider it as long as its not really long.

do you have a link to it?

It is over 17k words.

I'm afraid I don't have a link to it, but it is certainly an idea to set one up.

How much would you want for it?

Katie

Question Author

the average is between 5-10 per 250 words which would be 85 at 5, in total, but as I am still fairly new to it I would say about 50??

would you want me to edit electronically or on paper?

Some people have preferred me to make the corrections and suggestions directly into the electronic manuscript and highlight them in red, rather than do all the little symbols and notes in margins etc, which can be confusing to others to then interpret I suppose. But its entirely up to you. I have an America On Line account, my name is jokocook.

Sorry, so just to clarify, 50 for over 17k words?

Sorry, got mixed up there!

... must have been thinking of something else...

I added 17 x 5 (250w) instead of 17 x 20 (1000w) Doh!

The amount would be 340, but I would do it for 280...work out my E ad from last post if you're interested. Jo

I'm going to have to look into it... Your talking me into proof-reading courses now!! Lol

I will update you later, if thats okay...?

Question Author

No probs. No rush.

I can do it in 'laymans terms' too if you'd prefer.

I.e, I will explain my corrections, substitutions and suggestions on grammar, spelling, punctuation, prose etc, in English, rather than use all the jargon and symbols - these can be even more confusing if you haven't studied proofreading.

The outcome is the same though.

I could do, say, 5 pages for free and see what you think, if you like.

Jo

Yeh... I'm just thinking really of the Math. There's a lady who can do 2k of words for 1 hour for 10, and I need to figure out how much that is and see how much it is in comparison to your price. It's not you, it's just my priorities keep on changing. I will let you know in due course.

Thank you all the same.
