This is probably one for Aldi fans. What are their canned soups like. I'm particularly interested in cream of mushroom.

My mum likes them so they can`t be that bad.
Soup is a real treat in this house for some reason, so we stick to Heinz tomato (with Aldi part baked bread rolls).
No Aldi in N. Ireland, so can't help, Jeza
The cream of mushroom is delicious. It's my favourite. My husband has their Oxtail. The chunky soup is lovely too.
they're fine - is this for you Jeza?
They are Humblesoups though.....
Just watch out for this so not disappointed.

Aldi near me had sold out of loads of stuff Fri at 3pm! (they close at 9!) and no staff to restock as couldn't get products out fast enough - flying off shelves. Fridges nearly completely empty. Were inundated all day & taken unawares so people going early and bulk buying..

staff told me - no break all day.
lol, you cheeky bu66er!

Coke tulip - they work on a really tight staff ratio (something to do with bonuses), I only know this as when our Aldi wasn't so busy the staff would have a little time to chat and going in with twins we always got additional attention (one of the deputy managers knew thing 1's name and completely enchanted her by giving her a flower).
I had a Carrot and Sweet Potato soup a couple of weeks ago it was nice.

Is that because of the £5 off voucher this week?

The soup is not for me. I take some 'soft' food in to hospital for Mic. Yesterday he asked for mushroom soup. Today I took in Heinz but he said it was sh1te. So I'm looking for another brand. I will try Aldi and hope he likes that. The only soup I eat is Heinz tomato but I realise we all have different tastes.
if there's an Aldi on the way to and from visiting Mic Jeza, you could do worse, especially if you're eating a bit more now

Ann - thats it I'm sure.
Must give soups a go...never tried

I never used to shop there but go all the time now -I cant believe how nice the staff are and fast and cheerful - the customers seem to have a different profile to supermarkets anywhere else I've been.

Humber, I heat the soup put it in a thermos then feed it to him with a slice of wholemeal bread which I soak in the soup when I visit him.
I made mushroom soup once (many moons ago) and it was lovely (and it must have been quick and easy as it was part of an o level lesson) - maybe you could make some?
very nice especially the pea and ham x

The hospital told me that anything I take for him to eat to make sure it is high calories and full fat. He has lost so much weight. I also take rice pudding and add fresh cream to it. If I ate the calories I'm feeding him I'd weigh 20 stone.
sorry Jez, ultra slow interweb here, so bear with me..

... there's nothing worse than a man miserable over food at the best of times, so I reckon Baxters might be a fail safe for quality and taste

even with tinned soups, and certainly rice pudding Jez, bung in a couple of room temperature egg yolks and warm gently
