JJ, It aint ginger if you dont mind!! its just a lighter shade of red! Carakeel hasnt given them names yet, she says she has only just met them.

excelsior-1 this breed apparently lay 300 eggs a year on average.
So lovely enjoy, beware of foxes

Sibton, they are shut in during the night and they are in a 6 ft high run with wire buried in the ground along the perimeter. That should keep them safe.

Well done, I have had mine for 8 weeks now, just a word of warning as they have come from such a bad situation, mine came with upper respiratry, sneezing, and colds,after antibiotics They soon adapt to the big wide world and just simply forget where they had come from, mine pooh for england, eat for the whole of america...(my mum works in a hospital and brings lunch for them home minus the meat), it's gone within 20 minutes, they are very loving, and loyal, we had an egg within 20 minutes of getting ours home, congratulations

Are they Warrens? If so you'll be getting upto 5 dozen eggs a week through most of the year. Hope you like cooking and omelettes.

I've always wanted to keep chickens!
Maybe when I retire and move out of London.
They all look ginger to me...;-))

I'll happily take a dozen per week-no matter what colour they are.

I'm looking after next doors chucks whilst they are away. The best eggs ever we've had....I do wish I could convince the old man that we need to keep our own :o(
