If you could, would you have people in to clean your house, wash your windows, do your ironing and keep your garden in order?

It has just occurred to me that apart from a window cleaner my neighbours do everything themselves, they have a large house and garden and are not hard up so it is not an economic decision.

Given the choice would you do it all yourself or would you rather hand over the mop and bucket to someone else?

My ex and I had a cleaner once a week she came every Friday and blitzed the place so it was always lovely for the weekend worth every penny
I have a window cleaner but I wouldn't have any other help. I would end up wanting to re-do it myself lol

My parents live in a big house and my Mum does it all herself every day including the inside of the windows. My Dad deals with the garden and the outside windows.
I already have a live-in gardener (Mr Frog), but I would love to have someone to do a bit of housework once a week. Although I'd probably turn into one of those people who always tidy up before the cleaner comes round.
I used to have a cleaner in every friday - as rowan says it was perfect for the weekend
I think if you both work its a good idea ...
I've got a window cleaner and gardener.
I would love to have a maid!!!!
No, I'd rather do it myself (apart from window cleaner).
No, I don't like people doing things in my house; I do my own housework, ironing, gardening, decorating. it's quite a large place and I could probably afford help but as I say don't want people coming into my private life... (Family is a different matter, don't mind them one bit but I like to think I'm independant). I do get in a firm to cut down trees though, can't do that!!!
we have a cleaner and a window cleaner. unfortunately i do the ironing. If i had the money i would have a mother's help too
No. I do all of it, windows inside and out, up and downstairs. If I had
someone in. I would be tidying before they came.
Ideally as I don't drive a chauffer and nice car would be wonderful... no arguments over whose turn to drink/drive... and no waiting for a bus loaded with chavs
I've never had help, only a window cleaner in my old house. I did a bit of domestic cleaning a long time ago, to help out my friend's Mum who has a 6 bedroom house, to earn a bit of extra cash. She had me cleaning all the bloody chandliers, the massive range oven and all the leather furniture.

I only did it for a month (:o((
Yes, in a heartbeat, along with a nanny and dog walker!

I'd like to take myself off shopping (clothes, shoes & sparklys) whist all of the above are doing their jobs in my house too.

Ta very muchly!
I used to have a cleaner that came in twice a week to do all the little job. You know the jobs like cleaning the doors down, dusting the lampshades, skirting boards etc. An ironing company collected my ironing once a week and brought it back on hangers. Also a window cleaner. The rest I did myself...

I did work full time and have 3 young children...and quite a large house, at the time! :-)
I have a window cleaner (once a month), a cleaning lady every Wednesday (who also does the ironing), and a gardener once a fortnight. How else would I find time to sit on here?
If we had a cleaner we would feel we had to clean up before she came.
I think we are conditioned into believing it is our duty... then we find we have too little time for ourselves to do the little things like painting nails, having facials , reading, sleeping, or just going for a walk... I miss our Gemma she was wonderful
How many hours have you clocked up today Craft? :-)

In a heartbeat. In fairness, my other half is much better at keeping the place in good nick than I am, although I try and be less trog like because he's a good influence on me, I'm very messy. If I lived on my own, the only thing I wouldn't have someone else do is my laundry and cleaning the toilet... I don't believe anyone should have to literally clean up my s***! ;o)
