What about a local market ? Stall holders usually require assistants. :o)
how about your local corner shop or cafe?
waitrose always have young people in them

A lot of big shops won't take you until you are 16 and have a National Insurance number.

You could try a smaller shop (i.e. not part of a centralised chain) e.g. your local papershop.

The law may mean that you'll find it hard - but do be aware of them. You really are best hanging on til you're 16 when there will be more options for you.

The following rules are connected to businesses employing young children (if they are paid or not), where work is carried out for profit. This does not apply to young children that baby-sit or help charities.

  • No work is to be carried out during school hours or during school lunch breaks
  • No work is to be carried before 7am or after 7pm
  • Only 2 hours work can be carried out on a school weekday of which no more than one hour of this can be carried out before the start of school hours
  • Work should last no longer than 2 hours on a Sunday
  • Work should last no longer than 8 hours during a Saturday or during a school holiday. This is reduced to 5 hours for those aged under 15
  • Work should last no longer than 35 hours per week during school holidays. This is reduced to 25 hours for those aged under 15
  • Work should last no longer than 12 hours per week when the child is attending school
  • Young children should have at least a 2 week break during the school holidays or at any point during the school year

Minimum Wage

Currently, the law states that there is no minimum wage for working teenagers (until the age of 18). - SO WATCH OUT-YOU COULD GET RIPPED OFF!!  Please PLEASE don't just take a job that pays 3 an hour.  You will lose entire weekends just to buy mobile credit or shoes or whatever it is.

Also, much as it's not my place to judge, if you split your time between school&mates, you'll hopefully end up with some good grades at GCSE&this will help you get a decent job next year! :-)  A job at this early stage could really damage your future plans.

Grab a brush and up the chimney with you yeh young whippersnapper!
