I have been invited for an interview at a company and from what I gather they put your CV forward to their clients ie. recruitment companies. These will then in turn hopefully offer me a job after an interview. My issue is that I don't really understand what the initial company gets out of helping me to a job. Do they get their money by digging into my salary or is it in fact via their client (my future workplace) that they get their earnings from? Also if anyone has any general comments about the recrtuitment industry these are welcome to.

They are paid a fee by the employer to do the initial screening and come up with a shortlist of candidates, based on the criteria identifed by the employer.
No money gets extracted from you.
The fee arrangement may be a fixed sum, or it may be a percentage of the recruited employee's annual salary, typically 15%.

I find agencies really annoying, they are supposed to be working for you as a candidate as much as the company looking for someone but it seems these days are gone, i dont trust them and they never get back to you, I have had a number of occasions where they havent even read my CV when i have applied to them because i have then seen a sutiable job and called them and they asked me so do you have experience then, even though i have pointed out they have had my cv and i call them every few days to which they say "we havent forgotten you we are just waiting for something suitable to come up!" annoying! Sorry, rant over!

yeah, I am a bit sceptical about it all. They were talking as if they are able to get me several interviews in a very short period of time. I have applied directly to companies as well so im not putting all my eggs into one basket.

In relation to them not reading your CV I think you're right because she asked me whether I could speak any other languages, this is despite the fact that it says I speak Dutch fluently.

All in all I'll give it a shot on Friday and see how it goes. Thnx for your answer!
