I am applying for a job which has a starting salary of 16,500 and recruitment and retention allowance of 3000. Does this mean my salary will be 19,500 a year every year of employment or will it be for a limited time? I dont really understand what this recruitment and retention allowance is.

i used to get an r+r allowance and it was every month regularly. i work for the NHS. Your potential employer may have a different approach though
depends on the company and what job you're applying for . I teach and recruitment and retention allowance is often paid to staff who have unique talents that we need to keep. Not sur how it works for other sectors tho
