Its just been said on the Today Program that the Russians have confirmed that traces of explosives have been found in the wreckage of the downed Sharm aircraft. Not sure why it has taken so long.

Now lets see if Putin will mess about Mikey.

Putin is highly unstable, and is capable of pretty much anything.
oh dear..more to come...
You have to give him thought, he could have gone in all guns blazing but he has waited for the proper results, IS has ordered 60 tonnes of Toilet Rolls on the strength of it.
IZAL loo rolls?
There wont be enough virgins to go round !

I think this was expected, I also wonder why it took so long. I will wait to see what Putin will do.

// Not sure why it has taken so long. //

Speculation is easy to find - evidence, a lot harder.

This changes everything. Russia's involvement in Syria was to help an ally, Assad. That has now changed to a matter of national security, revenge and a determination to eliminate ISIS.

Hopefully those who said Russia was targetting the 'good rebels' in Syria and not ISIS will now shut up.
// Putin is highly unstable //

Oh dear, Someone's been lapping up all the propaganda that has been put out. On what do you base the assessment of 'unstable'?
I don't think Putin is any more 'unstable' than Hollande. They just need to get together with everyone else and start getting 'serious'
"Not sure why it has taken so long."

the russians obviously arent as clued up as you are....
I'll tell you why that is mikey: they've seen the French taking action in Syria and they don't want to seem weak to their people by comparison. So Russia's news channels today have the topless wonder spouting tough talk, for which a justification is needed
The FSB have offered a 50 million reward for information :-)
Maybe it makes sense to have one terrorist outfit going after another one :-)
You'd be unstable too if you were named after a chamberpot.
Stick an A in his name and he has the perfect French moniker :-)
Just to answer the OP - I agreed with mikey that a bomb was the likely cause. I am sorry that it has taken so long to establish. (Sorry for the relatives especially.)
