It's not an uncommon trigger in some, I used to take my Grandson out of an auditorium before the final applause it was definitely one of his triggers as an autist.
shrug
Mamya I didn't mean that I thought it was a bad idea or that it shouldn't happen. The "shrug" was a preemptive comment before the "what is the world coming to"-ists arrived.
Love your pic Mamya !
Geez oh .
How dreary!
My nephew is autistic and also finds clapping intrusively loud. On occasions he has worn ear defenders in some places, and then people just think he is ignorant and listening to music...

I don't think it should be banned either... I was just giving an example that didn't involve "snowflakes".
I can understand that loud clapping can startle some people, especially those with autism, but you can’t ban it everywhere. They’re going to experience it in the real world.

Not very fair on deaf people.

Probably suffer a neurosis like shell shock. :-(
I'm going to kick you out of my fan club if you disagree with me again.

Lordy......

I'm not sure the facts are acurately reflected in the article.
