Visitors to New York should be aware of the strike by workers of the city transport authority, MTA, that has stopped all subways and most buses. Road journey times from JFK to Manhattan are considerably extended as a result, although trains can be used from the airport via Jamaica on the Long Island RR which is still running. Extra time for all travel must be allowed.
