can someone tell me the point of this please why should i have to pay an extra £39.99 a year for this when if i did have an accident my insurance would rocket up any way, is this another con job!!
I can't answer, but I'm interested to know this - I also pay extra to protect my 6 years no-claims - i thought the whole idea was that your premium doesn't go up of you have less than a certain number (mine is 3) of claims in a year?
you can't pay to get no claims bonus - you get it by having no claims. You can pay tp protect it though. The point being that you retain the % discount even if the premium goes up
so if you insurance is usually 500 and you have 50% NCB you pay £250
if you have a crash and the premiom goes up, but you protected the no claims, your insurance might be £700 but you can still get NCB at 50% - so you pay £350. Ok so it's gone up, but it's better than paying £700
You don't pay to HAVE a no claims bonus. You only pay (sometimes) to PROTECT your no claims bonus (so that you don't lose it if you make a claim). That payment should be optional.
have driven for 30yrs thankfully only one accident which was not my fault, but just got quote through from car insurance people, gone up £60 for renewal, well they can poke that! just dont see what this no claims bonus con is about!!
did you read my post? i don't really know how i can put it more simply so you do understand, but i'll try.
Although the premium will go up if you've had a claim, you will get a percentage of discount on the new policy if you have protected it.
In the example above, it would mean a difference of paying £350 pa rather than £700 pa
