Vax and Hoover are both brand names so it cant be both.

The generic name is vacuum cleaner not "hoover"

So I assume you mean Vax upright vacuum model x005

Yes VHG your quite right, it is a vax upright model x005,
i want to replace the hose with a new one, but how do you
get the bloody thing off, HELP

try going to the vax website and look at the online instruction manual. If you already have a new hose for it the fitting that joins it to the vacuum cleaner might give you a clue as to how to remove it.
