You don't plug speakers into a cassette deck, they are designed to be used with a hi-fi separates amplifier.

At a push you could use it with a set of amplified computer speakers (a adaptor would be required for the connectors)
It's not necessarily a case of 'at a push', ChuckFickens. I have a spare pair of computer-type amplifier speakers; plugged into a cassette deck they give excellent quality, though you wouldn't call it hi-fi.

Fair point chakka, maybe I shouldn't have used the term "at a push"

That'll be the slight audiophile in me taking over :)
Fair enough, Chickfickens. You're entitled to be fussy. Better than accepting any old rubbish.

(I think McMouse's contribution is very subtle, don't you? He's obviously trying to tell us that our methods will produce only silence.)
Sorry, ChUckfickens...
What in tarnation do you want a ca-sette tape player for?
..ps - yeuch !
