Pollen Stain

I've got a bad pollen stain on my carpet - it is from Freesias if that makes any difference.

A vase was knocked over and at first we thought only water was on the carpet, it wasn't until it had dried sometime later that the pollen was visible.

Have tried steam cleaning and also regular carpet cleaning detergent - neither have worked.

Any ideas on how to remove the stain?

I managed to get a lily pollen stain off a white jacket with Vanish Powder.  The one in a tub.  Left the thing to soak for a few hours in a quite strong solution.  If the carpet will stand it, you could try that.  And my daughter says that similar stains disappeared from her curtains just with the sunshine.  Not much help at the moment I know!
