How do I fit a new handle to my washing machine?

I have a Zanussi Nexus washing machine. The handle broke on the inside- the bit that pulls the lever back. I have bought a replacement handle, but haven't a clue how to take out the old and put in the new. I don't want to damage the door and end up with a bigger problem. Any help appreciated thanks.

The only advice I can offer is to draw a rough diagram of how the old catch sat (together with the spring part) before you take it off. The catch on my old washing machine snapped a few times, and it took me ages to put the replacement on until I started drawing a diagram.

Hope this helps.

That's a good idea , but before I can do that I need to know how to get to the part. Any ideas? Many thanks.
all you need to do to get the part is ring 01325302464, zanussi spares department or electrolux distriparts (pick option 2), have the model number ready and tell them what you need and they can post it out to you.

Thanks PLIVELY34, I have already got the new handle, I thought it would be simple to change the broken one for the new one. I just don't know how to get at it to replace it.
