do i choose the acer http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/Acer_Aspire_563 3_WLMi_T5500_LX.AU30J.056/version.asp or the dell inspiron 1501, http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/products/fea tures.aspx/notebooks_good?c=uk&cs=ukdhs1&l=en& s=dhs acer offers me a little more hard drive and microsoft xp media centre whilst dell offers me vista. advice would be appreciated thankyou

Good reason for not buying it then.
Existing software you have may not work on Vista and existing hardware you have may not have drivers for Vista.
There are LOTS of problems with Vista and it may not be right for 6 months or more.
Right now I would buy a laptop with XP on it.

The 'good' system is great for booting Vista, but without running any applications. That's not good, by my definition. I want to actually use my computer. What a joke.
