I am a driving instructor. My policy is that if sombody misses a 1hr lesson I rebook them in for a 2hr lesson next time . If they constantly *** me about then I  drop them. 😾

Good for you.  I don't like messers. Listen and learn Abbey.

Question Author

It was 1 hour

Well ask him to book you in for 2hr next time that way you don't miss out and nether will he .

Abbey, I've never been a driving instructor, so I don't know if they tell pupils they no longer want to teach them. You can wait and see what happens with your instructor or you could simply ask him if and when you can have another lesson. It's up to you.

I knew a woman who had lessons and she had special needs, she even needed a special knob on the steering wheel to turn it as she was physically disabled as well.  She should never have been allowed in a car as she had no awareness of distances and what to do at traffic lights or junctions, but several different instructors kept taking her money knowing full well she could never pass a test.  This was before the written test.  After a few months with each they finally gave up and told her she was not suited to driving.  She just found another one to take their place.

I would seriously ask him if he thinks you could ever pass a driving test.  Have you passed the written test?

Question Author

I have past a written one yes and he hasn't seen me do any manoeuvres.

That why I changed to auto

Question Author

Do I just change my instructor or wait?

How long ago did you pass the theory test?

The theory test is only valid for 2 years, then if you don't pass the practical  driving test in that 2 year period you need to retake the theory again.

I haven't heard from him this week so if not next week do I change my instructor?

Can you afford driving lessons?

Abbey, I do think it's rude if the instructor no longer wants you as a pupil! Professional courtesy - as well as everyday good manners - should play a part.

Have you contacted your instructor to ask about your next lesson?

If both of yous are waiting for the other to make contact, nothing will happen.

Sorry, Abey, I meant to say that I think it's rude if he doesn't let you know.

PS If he doesn't get in touch with you, you have several options - look for a new instructor, not look for a new instructor. If you choose the former, remember that you hope to have a full-time job soon and won't have anywhere near as much free time.

Abbey, I'm sure I suggested - days ago - that you could send your instructor a text, ask about future lessons.  Is he friendly, approachable? You seem very reluctant to be proactive.

If you've booked a lesson but missed it because you forgot what day it was, you should pay him.

Next time you book a lesson, get your instructor to give you a card which will list the Day, Date and Time of your next lesson.

He sends but I might wait to get a full time job

It's not that relevant a question, but one I can't help wondering about Abbey. How old are you? The fact that you're "abbeylee90" hints that you were born in 1990, so you're 33/34.
