Just heard on Radio 2 that Sunak has sacked Zahawi. More to follow, no doubt.

Ta, Scorpiojo. Immediately looked for an online report but couldn't find one - they all said he 'may' be sacked. Obviuosly updated now.
Welcome :-)
Think the Cons will soon be running out of chancellors and PMs in this term of office.
........What a Shambles....
Sorry missed page 2 because of adverts.
Did he jump, or was he pushed.....
Sunak said at PMQs that he would not sack Zahawi until the matter had been properly investigated.
That was Sunak trying to look strong.
And now he has been forced to sack him, and Sunak now looks very weak and not in control.
Though he has lasted longer than 46 days, it hasn’t took much longer for Sunak’s inadequacies to be found out.
Our problem now is that we are on our third lame duck PM, and stuck with him for the next 18 months, and he can/will do enormous damage to the country.
Yes,bad Gromit. But just imagine how bad it would have been had we had the old anti-semite Magic Grandpa in charge.
Gromit on Wednesday on the PMQs thread…

// Zahawi will bow out (be given the boot) in a few days.
And Sunak will look even more pathetic, and today’s woeful performance [at PMQs] will be remembered by everyone (possibly not TTT). //
Gromit, Boris wasn't a lame duck PM.
If people like gulliver think this kind of 'sleaze' (mired in sleaze was the repeated phrase used by some Labour woman on R4) is only found in the Conservatives they must live in cloud cuckoo land. I suspect loads of MPs of all parties, businessman and labour voting benefit fraudsters are at it.
You are so right Prudie.
Right decision better late thanks never.
BTW that was a quick return gulliver...
There are a lot of very clever people in the Conservative Party. With experience of how to properly use the power the electors have given them. Long time members who have been there and done that, and some clever new members with good ideas.
Starting with Johnson, and then Truss and Sunak, anyone with any talent has been shunned and marginalised, replaced with talentless toadies, loyalists and opportunists.
And the result is always the same - chaos, mediocre governance and a splattering of sleaze/corruption.
The next 18 months are going to be very tough.
But just imagine how worse it would have been had we voted the old anti-semite into power,Gromit.
// Boris wasn't a lame duck PM. //

Get your head out of the sand naomi. I take it from your answer that you agree that the present squatter in No.10 is a lame duck.
Vote Conservative - The Party that has forgotten how to govern.
