I thought about that Myra Hindley thing Neti but have decided not to watch .
She was an evil woman who is best forgotten .
I'm going to catch up with Raymond Blanc ( oooh la la) from yesterday and then watch a two parter with Philippa Gregory who is talking about her books and the White Queen .
I'm reading The Lady of the Rivers atm .I got the whole quartet of books about the Cousins War from the Book People for £6.99 ..I'd forgotten how much I like a history story and it's really good .
Your dinner sounds lovely ..we had ham, egg and fried potatoes .
Mr N's dad worked on the moors murder case and he said that little Lesley Ann Downey's tape was the worse thing he'd ever heard and that he and several others cried. He never told us the contents though. So I am interested.
I can't be in the Other Place jno because the dogs are here and they are angels. In my kitchen (no cooking going on and hasn't been all day but no opeanble windows) it says its 30 deg c and I believe it. We have just shared a punnet of very good strawberries from Waitrose and some cold meat.
Despite the heat I have watered the garden today and tidied and hoovered indoors, I feel cooler when the place is clean and tidy.
I am not going to watch Myra Hindley either, if I want to be made miserable I will go and look at my bank balance lol.
I am currently re reading Georgette Heyer, very easy and cooling for this weather.
I love those books by Georgette Heyer Woofy and also Jean Plaidy .
I used to read all that sort of thing years ago .
The programme was really interesting as I'm loving the White Queen on Sunday evenings. She knows her stuff and brings these women to life .They were the movers and shakers of their time .
It's Oight Oight from me as must be up bright and early to go to the big Morrisons over at Lowestoft in the morning. My brother wants to get there and back before it gets too hot .
I've had the bedroom curtains drawn all day and the windows wide open so it should be cool up there with the bit of breeze off the sea..Hope you all have a cool and peaceful night .
still 28 deg in the house and 20 in the garden with no breeze...gonna be a a long night.
Shughy has settled to sleep without a panic attack tonight which is a good thing, he's been twitchy at night since the last lot of fireworks. Still too hot for me to sleep but oight oight anyway.
Good morning, oh 20º in the garden, I would love that.

Am just feeling lethargic, as it it getting way too hot now. I shall anage to do things for a while but by afternoon I just feel sick. Have to drive hija and her friend to the Marina at Ibiza this afternoon as they are invited onto a yacht, I have a time limit of 25mins, just hope I can make it!

Just lolling this am, and doing hija's uniform washing, there is a pile of ironing again :0(
another nice sunny day... 28 degrees predicted... loving it! My second summer this year after the one down under, not that I want to be greedy, mind.

Morning all...so sorry to read about your nephew neti, I hate to hear the word 'secondary', I hope they can treat him.

Looks like we're going to touch 30C again today. It wasn't so much the heat yesterday as the atmosphere that made me droop, it was cloudy in the afternoon and that made it heavy. I downloaded a free book and sat where it was cool all afternoon.
Looks like it's considerably cooler in Norfolk, if it gets too cool I'll send you a drawerful of heat shaney. It seems to be the way to store it, I took out a room temp gauge this morning and it was 27 in there :)

I look like the spinning mop that was on qvc this morning...shame I don't have a spare head like that one one did. Just in case you're interested, lol

It is not considerably cooler here Robi....................

Tell a lie................. it is! Yesterday it rose to 34 degrees here and at the moment it is only 24, but it is only 9.30am.

Had a lovely afternoon yesterday at a wonderful garden and plant centre and then sitting out under a parasol sipping tea and eating coffee and walnut cake and gossiping.

Sorry about your nephew Neti. I wish him well.

Unlike jno, I am longing for slightly cooler temperatures.

I am still thinking about the hovering. I suppose I better do it before it gets hotter :o(
I hovered and watered last night when it was cooler.
I have to do the ironing and hoovering but..............

I did manage to pop out and meet another friend for coffee, then jumped straight in pool when I returned home.

I would also like a spinning mop.
the heat is making my mop (and head) spin. We are in the alert sector today and were yesterday.
yes we are very soon at the stage when the police cycle around and tell everyone to drink water, tap water is free in bars.
We have August yet to come when temps get into the mid 40º's, which is when I used to go to England to avoid it but with all these weddings and funerals I am missing it.

The sun has only just put in an appearance here .First thing this am we had thick sea mist .It's a bit cooler than yesterday .Top temp for us 24C .Just nice .
Done my shopping but awful traffic jams coming back ,Oulton Broad is heaving with grockles .Hope you are all ok .
HI all on my way back from town after a. Coffee and custsrd and buying a top from purr una.

Very hot on the bus. Please excuse any errors. Later gaters
yay have juyst hoovered several times with different tools to get rid of Mousey's fur which is everwhere. Looks a bit better.
Sta Eulalia is heaving with grockles, guirres (have to spell it properly), waiters, cars and housewives drinking coffee, and the poor panting dog!
