If I throw a lit cigarrette into a bucket of ice would the heat from the cig melt a small bit of the ice first or would the moisture extinguish the cig first?
Just like......If you tipped a cup of hot water into a bucket of cold water, would the cold water cool the hot water or would the hot water heat the cold water?
Having smoked for over 30 years until I gave up ten years ago that is a question I can answer through experience. When you throw a burning cigarette onto ice or snow it does melt a small amount of water which then extinguishes the tobacco. It takes about 15 seconds to do so.
