Opposite the Joiners Arms on Bishopton Road, Mumbles, Swansea there is a whole building which has been greyed out. Why would that be? I'm now so curious that if I lived nearer I would drive there just to find out! And the little yellow man who is stood in the middle of the road is no help, he doesn't speak!

If the companies who send us all the junk we recieve can afford to do it, I'm sure Google can.......

I'm going to take a day off tomorrow, and have a drive down there to see what it is.....(any excuse for a day out).....
Google can't show advertising? Try Google's Street View where you know there are billboards - nothing at all is blurred out. I suspect the owner of the blurred building asked Google to do it - rather like the military in Afghanistan, who considered that Google Earth showed the layout of their encampments in rather too much detail. Again, there have been objections to Street View on the grounds that it gives would-be burglars an opportunity to get a good look at a property without even having to visit it.
It's a nuclear weapons testing shed : )
Seems to be a hotel and the owners have chosen to blur it for the clients privacy.
As for ZebUKs comment, anyone attacking a Google camera car are unintelligent, ignorant fools and as such should not and could not afford 'high value houses', they are more likely to be criminal minded people who do not want to be traced ...
>>How about asking the "user" for thier permission to be photographed in the first place,

Anyone can take any picture without asking the people in it first.

If you wanted to take a picture at a football ground would you have to go and ask everyone in the ground if it was ok before you did it?

our street used to be on Google Street View, but now a section of it has just vanished, including our house. Presumably someone objected; but they didn't blur it, just removed 300 yards altogether.
maybe its a nursery or something and they didnt want a photo on google?
As IgglePiggle has said, it's a hotel, The Valley Hotel, but why they'd want to grey it out I don't know.
Valley Hotel is another pub opposite the blur.
No, ABerrant. The Joiners Arms is opposite the blur.
Its a T-junction.

Left side of the T-junction is the Joiners Arms;
The head of the T is the Valley Hotel.
Right side of the T-junction is the blurred house.

You coulc contact Val Halsey, landlady of the Valley and ask her to stand in the main entrance of her pub and describe or photograph the "blur" on the opposite side of the road.

This photo of the pub was taken with the photographer standing to the left of the "blur"...

if i rode all the way down there and did not find a big grey thingy opposite the pub i would be very peeved :)
Maybe there were people naked in the upstairs e naked in an upstairs window : )
Anyone can have their property removed from Streetview if they request Google to remove it.

(or so Google claimed when Streetview came out and the press got all excited about privacy)
I had a look further down the road in that link spudqueen and I seen a man in the bushes having a pee, well I think he was having a pee..-O
