I'm looking at a fan heater in Argos to purchase - £ 24.99 - i'm attracted to it because it comes with a manufacturers 3 year guarantee

However it states it is made from plastic ( I've not seen a heater made from plastic material before )
Would it be safe to use ?

Guessing that it's either made by De'Longhi or Dimplex, yes, of course it's fine to use.
They are pretty much all plastic these days.

Indeed - Dimplex .

Thanks both
Fan heaters aren't very efficient as the air cools down more than about three feet away from the unit and all that happens after this distance is that you end up blowing cold air around the room. Halogen heaters are much more effective.
We've got fan convectors where the heat comes out of the top, they are pretty effective.
I think the type your talking about boxtops are much more powerful than the little plug in ones.
