My upstairs neighbour has just flooded me out for the 4th time. I went up to see here 3 times today, she said she was going 2 work and there was little she could do. So I am now left with water pouring through my ceiling and she is not in now. What can I do??

call your water supplier and ask if they can cut her water supply off :)

I did also once see on TV that the police went and broke into a house that was leaking water into a property below. Maybe call your local station
there should be a out side stop tap usuley in the pavment at the front of the propety turn that off

Thank u I will give it a try. It's getting closer and closer 2 my electrics
turning off the water supply outside the property may cut off other houses though, something which you should not do.

Stupid people make life so difficult! It was the lack of concern that got to me!

each property should have its own stop tap its just finding the correct one.
some stop taps (especially in old flats) are often inside the property.
call the police station for advice if there is no outside tap to close

The neighbours stop valve is inside her flat under her sink
Can't you gain access to turn it off..?
if leak that bad, call the local police to see if they will gain access

Thank you guys 4 all ur help. got police to gain entry with a plumber, it turned out that her washing machine main pipe had come loose, took him 2 seconds to fix!!! Have put away the umberella and have the rest of the night 2 fix the swimming pool in my kitchen, can at least cook again now!! It's nice 2 know that some people out there care :)
You should have still turned her water supply off, that would have been funny...
Tell her that you are going to claim on your insurance for the water damage, and that your insurance company are going to be looking to reclaim the cost from HER insurance company. This is how it works, and going to work while water's pouring out of her flat sounds very much like negligence to me. Don't delay, tell your insurance company tomorrow, take photos of the damage, get them to come and take a look.

I like ur style craftypig!!!, believe me I thought about it!! The cops kind of frown on it lol!! My building insurance should cover it, but...... how much can u put up with without loosing it. The neighbour has flown off 2 sunnier locations and left a s*** storm behind her for everyone 2 clear up.
If only she had a dog, you could post laxative chocolate through the letterbox.

where's randall???? lol u heard that b4???

is she resposible 4 the damage 2 my kitchen
Most definitely, especially since she was aware of the problem and failed to do anything about it.
