Please could anyone recommend a good room air freshner, not a spray....and it doesn't even have to be a plug in (though if they're good?), but one that actually works and you can actually smell its perfume, which should be a nice one? Ta Muchly.

Branche D'Olive Bouquet Aromatique Garrigue scent. They are reed diffusers. Gorgeous.Pretty expensive but they do last about 3 months.About £20. There are loads of different smells but this is the one I love. The White Company also do some lovely reed diffusers too. Careful of plug ins. I've read lots of fire scares.

Many Thanks Barb and pretty expensive as you say and totally unknown to me...which aint saying much; for me that is....smile....and what the heck is a reed diffuser and how different from an 'ordinary' air freshner, but it dunner matter really, don't blind me with science...smile...as long as it smells nice. I'll wait to see if I have any other answers..Thanks again Barb.
Hi Woodelf. Basically its a bottle of scented oil that you put a few thin reed sticks in. The oil soaks up the sticks and it smalls gorgeous. Every week or so you switch the reeds upside down. They really are lovely and do work. There's lots of cheaper ones on Ebay but I was bought this one for a pressie and I fell in love with it. Shame they are expensive. I'd love a few if I had the money!!

You light one end, put it in an incense holder and it gives off a small line of lovely smelling smoke for about 20 min.

"elucidate" LOL sounds like what someone with a cold would do after taking LSD
Well .. I use Ambi-pur plug in, and replace empty by filling with oil I buy.
I usse good old Oust 3 in 1, clears the air wonderfully
Question Author
Thanks Box, but what does Oust smell like....and Al....are you follerin' me around?...what socket do you plug your smellies in then?...weak lol!
I myself just dont trust plug ins. I would go with a diffuser, vase of oil and reeds put in.
I don't ever use plug-ins, woodelf - there have been too many stories of the plug-ins overheating, melting and catching fire. I either use a spray when necessary, or I have a battery operated one downstairs which sends out a Pouff! every couple of minutes when required. No more plug-ins for me!
PS Oust comes in different scents, the one I have at the moment is in a green can, Woodland Fresh I think from memory.
Oh dear woodelf ..I'm a firm believer in that good old room freshener called fresh air :)
All you have to do is open the windows :)
Can't be good for you all those spray things floating around in the air and I can't stand artificial smells ... Smile .....
Grow or buy lillies and when in bloom...put `em` in a vase,...........luvly
Question Author
Yes Shaney, but if you open the windows, you get all the racket from outside as well. Yes Carlton, we do have lilies growing and do transfer them inside and I agree about their smell, but it doesn't last; shame...smile...but we also try other flowers too, fresias and the like...but Many Thanks one and All.
If you have a TK Maxx near you they sell the reed diffusers really cheaply - I got one for a fiver yesterday :)
Question Author
Many Thanks Bush, there's a TK Max in town, so will go and check it out!...and Many Thanks All!
Question Author
Thanks again Bush, went to TK Max and got a Tiger Lily for £4.99 (fitzherbert/Prince) down from £15 and it's beginning to aromatise nicely...smile!
For the first few days if you turn the reeds over a couple of times it really helps them to work better :)
