The downstairs lights have suddenly stopped working. At first i assumed a bulb had blown and that the circuit had tripped, but it hadn't. Since then I have changed all the bulbs, switched the power on and off several times, but still they do not work, it seems only to be effecting the one ring, as plug sockts and other lights in the house still work. Does anyone have any further suggestions as to what the problem may be and a possible solution?

could be a break in the neutral circuit which would through out the whole ring. But you will need a spark now due to IEE regs 2005
Could this not be a fuse in the main fuse box. In mine all the downstairs lights are on one fuse.
