My sisters 10 month old puppy was running around on our snow covered garden today and ran across the snow covered pond thinking it was part of the lawn, obviously the pond was iced over but not so thickly in some places, Sam, the pup didn't realise this and ran straight onto the thin ice, felt his front legs go in, panicked and fell in, he went absolutely nuts, obviously he was still panicking and clambered up the side of the pond with my help, he was frozen and he had the look on his face as if to say ooops, i shouldn't have done that. I couldn't help but laugh, t'was soooo funny but the look on his face was priceless. Something makes me think he won't be going near the pond anymore. I had to share this with u guys, he is so cute! :)
That reminds me of when we took Max and Bingo to Haigh Hall the first time, Max was trotting ahead of us and trotted right into one of the ornamental ponds that was covered in green pondweed, lol, he got such a shock, must have thought it was grass!
I agree, it is funny, but lucky he could get out and you were there. I hope this will serve as a warning to other people with ponds because that may not always be so.
Sams my pup and i'm pretty sure he wont learn lol! But we are always there to watch him. He did stink of fish afterwards though :s Whenever he does something silly like that, he has an embarrassed look on his face, so he quickly gets on with something else as if it didnt happen!
