How can i clean sheet metal from rust?

depends on how much rust there is on your sheet metal, you could use a wire brush or some emery cloth. once you have got rid of the rust you will need to give it a protective coat with something ( paint ect ) or the rust will just come back.

its a metal sculpture i did for an art exhibition but it has a fish-scale effect on it which i did with a \'metal-sander\' so i\'m reluctant to add more scratches to it. IOs there anything i can buy that will wipe it off with a cloth and if so, where can i buy?Wilkinsons or hardware store, perhaps?
you could try brasso or durglit, you can get that from wilko's.
Give it a good coating of WD40, let it soak in. Perhaps give it another spray and soak. Then scrub it with something non-abrasive. Seeing as how it's metal "soak in" is the wrong term I guess. But you know what I mean.
I understand that dunking in Coca Cola is good for dissolving rust although I've never tried it.
It should certainly get in all the cracks.
