Hi all, i have a kitchen designer coming round on Thursday to give us a survey etc. We have quite a big-ish kitchen (33 cupboards) but dont need that many so am going to scale it down. We know what kind of design we like but just wondered if anyone had any tips or ideas for things that they have had done that they love?

Thanks AliFlump

I saw you have not yet had any answers so thought I would contribute...

If you have a big kitchen and wanted to scale it down... you could have an 'island' for the hob or sink (not usually both) and the island could have a raised breakfast bar area. Islands tend to work better in bigger kitchens as they are not economical with space.

We built into ours (using pieces of black downpipe) a wine rack - we had about 12 apertures cut out of the laminate finish and made them wine bottle racks. We had so many compliments on it too!

Also - maybe dont have wall units.... but just a tall parlour unit - that will keep a nice big spacious feeling.

If your budget stretches to it I really recommend granite worktops too!

(a self cleaning oven goes down a treat too!!! along with waste disposal unit for any pet food if you have animals)
