I know its in the wrong thread,so apologies. We have seen so many kitchen planners over the last couple of weeks that my head is in a spin.We have had several different designs which we like and on the whole the prices are all very similar. Some have been from local people and some from bigger firms. Of the bigger firms, two we liked particularly were Wickes and Tesco, but I am paranoid about "cowboys". Has anyone used either of these companies and if so what are your thoughts on them. Its a long time since we had a new kitchen and I can't believe how much things have changed, but I dont want to end up with a rubbish job.Sometimes I wish we hadn't started this, but it really has to be done. Thanks for any comments.

For fitting I would always go with a local guy rather than a subcontractor from a big company.
Don't skimp on a good fitter. We were recommended a 'good man' who knew how to fit kitchens. And I'm living with the consequences.
We bought our kitchen locally from Howdens, but their fitting advice was pants, so the local independant kitchen fitter planned the kitchen TOGETHER with us, and then installed it beautifully.
If you get a fitter who is fitting the stores products day in and day out they will do a good fast job. Avoid B&Q like the plague -I've never ordered a kitchen from them that has not has something missing or a wrong sized door . I would go with a local firm that will do the job from start to finish - and ask to see a kitchen they have fitted -all good local firms will be able to do this for you.

Thanks for your replies, food for thought. One thing though, each kitchen had something we liked and I have another local firm coming and hopefully we could incorporate a few different things into one. I wish I could go away and come back to one all done with everything included. The worst bit will be emptying the old kitchen. Some things haven't seen the light of day for years.
