My OH spilled quite a large amount of aqueous cream onto an off white carpet, should we claim against the insurance or would it make a large difference on the premiums?

crikey, how on earth does anyone spill a cream.

sounds like you want to claim so just do it. The insurers will assess, its hard to say how much your premiums will rise by (and dont forget the excess) as that will vary from company to company.
Be aware that if you go through your insurers, the assessor that vists may well opt for them to try cleaning it first, they won't just send you a cheque - they've seen this scam before!

Why can't you clean it yourself?, aqueous cream will come out easily enough - it's a paraffin based water-soluble emulsion. Scape up the worst of it, then use warm water and detergent.

Thanks both, pay the premiums to cover much larger problems and how do you spill a cream-it comes in a very large tub and is quite runny, for skin problems rather than just a moisturiser and if I just wanted to make a claim I would've killed the OH
I am well aware of what it is, i use it here.

give your insurer a call. OR give another insurer a call and ask for a guide price on what itd cost to insure after a claim
