Is there a difference between UPVC, composite and wooden door furniture? Such as letterboxes, door knockers etc...

I haven't even attempted to remove the door furniture I have on my UPVC front door but it's looking a bit shabby so I was just wondering if when pricing it up I need to be looking out for specific items that say 'suitable for UPVC' or if it doesn't actually matter?
