... to Chatterbank anymore or can AB-ED shut it down as another welcomed but failed attempt to give people a place to chat, and concentrate on bringing the Q&A theme of the site back to a decent quality.
All Chatterbank is doing is ruining the entire site and turning people away from using much of its Q&A offerings and go towards other sites such as Yahoo Answers.
There are far fewer responsible questions and fewer answers nowadays than there was 12 months ago and its been declining rapidly since the Chatterbank was re-born (or re-gurgitated more like).
I'm often asked for a good site to ask questions about techincal support etc, and in recent years i always referred to this one, recently tho it has become so embarrasing to mention going to a place where rampant cloning of usernames, constant disruption and aggresive behavior, mixed with inane ramblings that are far removed from anything in real life and instead appears written by someone that has spent the past 20 years smoking cannabis all day long, that i refuse to even mention being associated with the place!
The original version of Chatterbank, although not without problem, was a pretty good place to unwind or let off steam... but Mk2 of it is now very much rated as a Black Mark by everyone that visits it or ever used it. The fact only about 10 - 20 names regularly post on it shows how there is a huge lack of interest from most people.
Something needs to be done soon otherwise the entire business venture is in danger of going down the pan and we ALL lose out on what was and could again be a very good Q&A website.
And if anyone gets defensive over Chatterbank.... look back over the past few weeks of posts and you will see your only getting protective over an online cesspit where you believe you have friends, but really cant trust whether you are talking to who you think you are, and just making the rest of the

Of course, a response by AB-ED over the future of Chatterbank and AB as a whole would be very appreciative on this thread but unfortunately another sign of how dire things are getting here, the AB-ED seems to do minimum moderating, virtually zero support or acknowledgement to a section (Suggestions) designed to receive acknowledgement and has rarely updated their blog due to "So much happening" that never appears to offer any positive influence towards this website.

Naky... its not popular, a LOT of good people over the years have left because of it.... the ones using it have all made up so many aliases it appears there are 100 people enjoying it when in reality its probably around 20 or 30, and even some of them are sick of it all, and it isnt a case of just stay out of it..... as my post has stated, the chatterbank is having a very negative effect on the rest of the site as a whole..... parts of the site I DO want to be on but are just being effected by aliases and aggresive answers that are a indirect cause of having Chatterbank.
I do see what you are saying, but at the end of the day everyone has a simple choice to make: whether to use it or not. The very nature of a 'chatterbank' section means it will attract a higher number of trolls/trouble makers etc.
From memory, the last CB section was removed for many of the reasons that some users are unhappy about now.

Proof in point... even the suggestions board is overcome with stupid humour by ridiculous alias names.... am i meant to just stay out of suggestions also...... and what of TV section as well? Or just the entire site as a whole should be avoided because some clone posts some rambling reply or shouts accusations at me?
Im sorry but I am with RaySparx... it was a great place in its time but its long past its time now!

you are right whambam, all that you say is ezxactly what is happening, i am sick of coming on here just for a nosy and a chat and then getting snide comments for no reason.
But it is only one user that is actually creating all the problems, whether it is thru his own posts ot posts directed at him, the div has made a right pigs ear of the site and his pathetic attempts to get attention make it even worse, and people who continue to pander to his ego and posy about him deserve to be ridiculed for their daftness. I put a long reply up in my dotovaposted id agreeing with you and expressing my views on why CB is worse than AB and what is the cause of the trouble.

Not stressed Joe.... just putting a point of view across that a very good site has now become so crap because of what i consider to be 90% Chatterbanks fault, is now not deemed worthy of being on my Favourites anymore.
It is just annoying that a person I know was banned from this site who did nothing but post decent questions and never went in Chatterbank as far as I know, and was banned because of the stupid Reporting feature that was abused by people that wanted to get rid of them out of malice purely based on the fact of who they were a friend to, and nothing to do with anything that was posted. And it all stemmed from Person A cloning Person B and Person B complaining about it, so Person A and their clique banned Person C who was totaly innocent and oblivious to Chatterbank purely because Person C is good friends with Person B who was cloned!

Is this the reason you post there infrequently whambam -but feel compelled to look in?Should i feel so strongly about CB I simply wouldnt even look in as its so dull and uninteresting given its the same old tosh.I wouldnt bother even trying to resurrect it should I be you .
I do concede that you are 100% correct -its been indefensible lately with cloning which is particularly upsetting -its gone to the dogs really but hey some of us have friends on there so we persevere.
Can you recommened another site -per chance? Maybe moderated a bit better .
