Shires toilet will not shut off water supply

Nearly new toilet, the water does not shut off after flushing and refilling - system seems to work on different principle to traditional ballcock.
Have emailed Shires, but would appreciate any help in the meantime!

I had a similar problem to you where the the cistern kept over flowing so I changed the inlet valve.

The original was like this :
http://www.screwfix.com/prods/55211/Plumbing/T oilet-Fittings/Adjustable-Height-Bottom-Entry- Torbeck-Valve

and I changed it to this:
http://www.screwfix.com/prods/29212/Plumbing/T oilet-Fittings/Compact-Bottom-Inlet-Valve

I'm no plumber and I don't know why one works ok and the other doesn't but I hope this helps you.
I worked for Shires for over 2 years. The numbers you have given are not proper model numbers, they are all 3 numbers eg 825. Anyway, It could be a number of things.
The fill valve could be stuck on, the water level is not set correctly, dodgy valve seal. However, its easier to recognise a common problen when you know the name of the suite or a model number. Try calling the sales dept or asking for Tony or Phil in technical and they should be able to help. (Main Number is 01274 521199)
