my jeep was stolen last week but my mot had expired 5 days before what difference will this make to my claim is my insurance still valid

Stand by for Ethel to tell you that your insurance becomes invalid as soon as your MoT expires.

My view is that, unless your insurance policy specifically says that this is so, you are still covered.
As New Judge states it is unlikely that your insurance company will fail to honour the claim. They may however deduct the cost of an mot from any pay out.

I could only see problems if the car, when recovered and examined, had faults which deemed it unroadworthy at the time it was stolen. A claim may be reduced to take these facts into account
