Well thats a cionsidence just had a quote done yesterday. I have a two bed house and to take out the old boiler (bermuda baxi behind fireplace) and replace it with a combi it was 1865, of that 765 materails and 1100 labour.( could give more info later as i left the quote at home) Hope that helps. PS let me know what the quote was.
In the midst of doing the exactly same work, combi and radiators, and in total will be 4k. God, how many new frocks could I have bought instead?!

Cycleman.British Gas gave me my wuote yesterday, and it was 5k,which I thought was reasonable. This includes removing the old boiler, the water tank, and the water tanks in the loft.We are also having 11 radiators replaced with new ones,2 other new radiators installed, loads of pipework moved around, and as part of a deal they are doing at the moment, they are going to insulate my loft free of charge. All in all, I am very pleased with their quote.
I am just having a similar job done and have managed to get a full system with a Potterton Performa 28 (31KW) combi-boiler, nine radiators, majority of the piping and a thermostatic shower for 1,046 online (www.mrcentralheating.com). This site offers a complete package (boiler & 7 radiators) for 689 which is ample big enough for a 3 bedroom house (mine was slightly more as I have a 3-story property). I went on B&Q's website (www.diy.com) to check out the radiator sizes that I'd need (listed under services - design online) and then matched them with mr central heating website. Fitting this had minimal cost and my Corgi chap told me he couldn't buy it in for this price but he will probably source future jobs from mr central heating! Hope this helps
I had a quote for just a Ravenheat combi plus labour today which I find excessive. Janiepie who is your corgi gas man.
