Hi all. My trusty old Flymo has kicked the bucket and I was thinking of getting a petrol mower as a replacement, nothing too fancy as my budget is only 200 (135). Can anybody recommend one please?

Hi, I bought a 'Mountfield' petrol mower and I personally think it's great. Only thing I would advise is make sure you buy one with a clutch, mine does'nt and cutting the grass can get a wee bit tiring after a while. Much better cut though.

Thanks Squawkbuzz. Where did you get it and how much did you pay if you don't mind me asking.
I moved to a new house with a much bigger garden and used my electric one twice. It nearly killed me!

I bought a mountfield 474 from B&Q for 145.00 and although I have only used it once I am really please with the results. It is much quicker, cuts better and holds more grass cuttings.

The only downside is you do have to put a few bits together which is a pain and a bit Fiddly
