I had 600.00 pounds taken from my bank account about 18 months ago. I had withdrawn some money from the ATM at my local bank on the Saturday morning and by that afternoon 200.00 had been withdrawn at an ATM over 50 miles away. By the Sunday they had removed another 400.00. Fortunately I do online banking and went into my account, so immediately realised what was happening and stopped my card. When I withdrew the money at the ATM I found it quite difficult to withraw the card, this was because a piece of plastic had been inserted into the slot which read all my card details and a small camera had been placed somewhere on the ATM to watch me inserting my PIN. All my money was refunded to me after about a month but as a precaution I now refuse to use this ATM and always withdraw money from the counter inside the bank. I think this practise is called Phishing.
