help we have flies in the loft is as if the are breading in the window frame how do i get rid of them

They will be Cluster flies, very little you can do to get rid of them to be honest without employing a pest controller, the loft will need to to be fumigated. If you do get a Pest Controller, ensure he guarantees his work as its not a cheap treatment and you don't want to be calling him back. I charge �65.00 for an average 3 bed house, as a guideline. If he uses a powder (unlikely) it will be very messy and will cover everything in the loft with a mildly toxic powder.

I had this problem a couple of years ago. They tend to aggregate around the light bulb when it is turned on. I removed them all with fly spray and touch wood have not returned.
it may be that a pigeon has died in there and these are from the maggots, and they are getting through gaps in the skirting etc

i have had a sudden roomfull of flys about 3 times and they last a 4-5 days - unless you can get them out of a window

so maybe they will disappear of their own accord soon
