hi all, last year my victoria plum tree bore an abundance of fruit, unfortunately nearly all had a small maggot inside.don`t want this to happen again this year.any ideas as to which pesticide to use.the tree is about 7 years old.thanks

It looks to me that you may have plum sawfly (Hoplocampa flava),sorry for the technical jargon, spray with pirimiphos-methyl, permethrin or fenitrothion within 7 days of 80 per cent ofpetal-fall. On small trees pick and burn damaged fruitlets to prevent it spreading. Good Luck.
