There was oil in the tank.. I guess I need to have the boiler serviced, but that will cost about £50

-- answer removed --

Try bleeding it first Sandy - you don't need to take much out - it could just be that it needs a bit of a kick.

sandyRoe & TTT - please keep your feuding to threads that might actually concern it, rather than dragging it all over the site.

Mister,

If ttt would ignore my posts I'd do the same.

Mister,

What part of my responses do you think was unacceptable?

You've probably got an air lock, was the tank empty when it was filled?

Well, chatterbank dislikes intrusion. Sandy I hope you get your tank fixed. Oil is expensive isn't it. .

Sorry if I am  being dumb, but is there a thermostat somewhere in the house i,e, hall or lunge etc.

I once had no heating for 2 days, while the plumber couldn't find the fault, until he was leaving for the third time and noticed the thermostat in the hall was still set at 14 degrees instead of 21 degrees.

" lounge not lunge 😀

Floko not all oil households have thermostats - my last 2 didn't.
