I have started to watch Rupert the bear I suppose it is just the colours and sense of ‘adventure’ that cheer me up

Unfortunately with each episode only lasting 20 minutes I am reaching the end. I need something else similar to Rupert to watch.

Do you ever watch kids programmes?

Not programmes. But some films, basically made for children.
I adore In The Night Garden, which I am sure was created, either with an imagination that has the dimensions of a galaxy, or the regular ingestion of industrial level hallucinogenic.

Whatever, it is a work of utter wonder, and anything that captures and maintains the attention of fraction toddlers to the level that it does, is genius in child-friendly form.
Thanks for reminding me that I've not yet watched the CBeebies Christmas panto. It's great fun every year!

I used to be addicted to The Hoobs too ;-)
Having said that, if the television is on and something like Shaun the Sheep comes on I enjoy it, but I don't go out of my way to watch children's programmes. When I had a young child I would often sit and enjoy them with him.
On and I would sit and watch Sooty!
Used to watch Pokemon when I came off a night shift, helped me wind down.... Then family started buying me the toys so I had to stop.
I hardly ever watch telly anyway.

For example, I bought the Christmas edition of Radio Times to plan my viewing but I didn't watch a single programme over Christmas. Since then, the only programme I've watched was Cèilidh na Bliadhn' Ùire, on BBC Alba, to see the New Year in.

However, now that MissT has mentioned my weakness, I'm feeling a great urge to catch up on some Shaun the Sheep programmes ;-)
At the (secondary) school I taught at, we had to reschedule staff meetings so that didn't miss The Magic Roundabout ;-)
Kids who watch programmes as adults that they first watched as children often see references that went completely over their heads the first time round.

E.g. in the episode of The Simpsons where Homer thinks Bart is gay, Bart comes down for breakfast wearing a very loud Hawaiian shirt, and Homer says "Bart! Where did you get that shirt?" and Bart replies "Just came out of the closet."

Pokémon is great too

To those who have kids you have a great excuse don’t you- can watch anything without looking like a weirdo
I always found time for The Magic Roundabout. I liked Blue Peter and Magpie as well.
The Magic Roundabout was never a kids programme.

Ever.
Boooooiiiiiiingg time for bed
I love all of Nick Park's works and their great genius is they work for both adults and kids. Numerous times I have caught clever funny detail I missed the first time around.
I've got a soft spot for some vintage children's programmes such as Tales of the River Bank, Camberwick Green, Trumpton, Mr Benn and can enjoy modern films such as Wallace and Gromit and most of the David Walliam films (although I can't stand Walliams).
The Night Garden is superb.
Iggle Piggle looks like David Cameron.
Thanks, Miss!
